Andrew Stanford

Andrew is the Co-owner and Managing Director of MTM Physiotherapy Duncraig. With more than twenty five years experience as a Physiotherapist he is well placed to treat any condition that you present with. Andrew studied his undergraduate degree at Curtin University and later completed a postgraduate Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University Melbourne in 2006. He has practiced at MTM Physiotherapy Duncraig since 1999.

Andrew has worked as a Sports Physiotherapist with a variety of sports teams including the Australian Olympic Team in Beijing 2008, The Australian Senior Men’s Water Polo team for ten years, Perth Football Club for 5 years, WA State Football Teams, The Illawarra Hawks in the NBL and the WA Football Commission’s State Under 18 program. He has also spent the past 7-8 years treating the Warwick Senators in the NBL1 competition.

His areas of clinical interest include Basketball, Football, Water Polo and Swimming. Andrew has extensive expertise with the treatment of shoulders, hip pain and difficult case presentations.

Brad Hart

Brad is the co-owner and Managing Director of MTM Physiotherapy Duncraig

Brad has 20 years experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. He has clinical interest in treating all forms of spinal pain and sporting injuries. Brad uses a wide variety of manual therapy techniques to help his clients and extensive experience with exercise prescription.

As a former state cricketer, Brad has special interest in the optimal management of all range cricket injuries. He has completed 25 marathons and two full Ironman events. He can provide expert analysis of all running and endurance related injuries.

Amelia Binns

Amelia graduated with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Notre Dame. Since then, she has been with the MTM team and has thoroughly enjoyed treating the varied caseload and challenges the practice has brought.

Amelia’s interests currently include;

Sports Injuries, management from day 1 and the rehabilitation requirements that goes into returning to sport as quickly as possible.
Paediatrics, treating children that are experiencing musculoskeletal pain to ensure they are performing at their very best.
Hypermobility, in a variety of ages and the treatment that accompanies the problems that this population face.
Neck pain, manual therapy, posture advice, and stretches required to keep neck pain under control.

Her course of treatment includes thorough education so that you can help yourself in the best way possible, a personalised and specific rehabilitation programme, and manual therapy to decrease your pain.

She has an approach to Physiotherapy that focuses on the long-term solution of the problem which generally includes an active based approach in combination with hands-on treatment.

Outside of MTM Amelia is the Sports Trainer Coordinator for the Fremantle Dockers AFL Programme and loves all things Footy. Through this position she also brings the current sporting injury knowledge from an elite athlete perspective into the practice.

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at the Dog Refuge, spending time at the gym, beach and catching up with friends.

Andrew Miotti

Andrew's educational background includes completing his degree at Curtin University. With a broad scope of expertise, Andrew is experienced in treating a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions, spanning from acute to chronic issues. Some key aspects of his treatment include:

Sporting Rehabilitation, Post-Surgical Rehabilitation, Spinal and Vestibular conditions: Andrew is skilled in the rehabilitation of sports-related injuries, catering to individuals involved in various athletic activities. This may involve designing specific rehabilitation programs to help athletes recover and return to their sport.

He is experienced in guiding individuals through the rehabilitation process following surgical procedures. This includes developing tailored programs to support recovery and restore function.

Andrew's patient care extends across all age groups, from children to the elderly. He has a versatile and adaptable approach to addressing musculoskeletal issues across all ages and fitness levels.

Andrew employs a combination of hands-on techniques and targeted exercises to optimise the recovery process for his patients. This approach adopts a personalised and holistic treatment strategy tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

Beyond his professional commitments, Andrew stays active and engaged in sports and fitness. His participation in playing hockey for the University of WA hockey club and spending time in the gym reflects a personal commitment to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. His personal involvement in sports contributes to his understanding of the physical demands placed on his patients and enhances his ability to relate to individuals with diverse interests and activity levels.

Andrea is a Sports Physiotherapist. Andrea has over 25 years experience as a Physiotherapist having graduated in 1984. After graduating she worked in the country, Fremantle Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital gaining experience across medical, orthopaedic, surgical, paediatric and intensive care wards.

Following 3 years working and travelling abroad she returned to complete a postgraduate diploma in Sports Physiotherapy in 1991. Andrea’s Sports Physiotherapy experience has been at WAFL level and with first grade rugby union. Since then she has worked in private practice, with a special interest in sports injuries and Pilates.

Fiona O’Connell

Peter's has extensive experience and qualifications as a Sports Physiotherapist. His background in human movement, combined with postgraduate qualifications in Sports Physiotherapy, equips him with a comprehensive understanding of the musculoskeletal system and sports-related injuries.

With over 30 years experience in Private Practice, Peter has encountered a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and gained valuable insights into effective treatment approaches.

Peter enjoys treating all musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic back and neck pain, which highlights his versatility as a Physiotherapist. This broad approach allows him to cater to a diverse range of patients with different needs. His treatment modalities are a combination of hands-on techniques, therapeutic massage, and tailored exercise programs to address various aspects of musculoskeletal health.

Rachael Dodds

Rachael Dodds is a Senior Physiotherapist who has been part of the MTM team since 2016. Since completing her Physiotherapy degree in 2012, Rachael has worked exclusively in the private practice setting and has completed additional training in Sports Physiotherapy, Strength & Conditioning, Clinical Pilates, Cancer Rehabilitation and Pain Neuroscience. Rachael has extensive knowledge in assessment and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including sporting injuries, neck and back pain, headaches, soft tissue/joint injuries, post-surgical and pre/postnatal issues. She has experience working with the Australian Junior Women’s Water Polo as well as multiple state level sporting teams. As a keen runner and triathlete, Rachael is also knowledgeable in preventing and treating injuries related to endurance athletes.

Rachael is passionate about collaborating with her patients to create holistic, evidence based and individualised treatment plans using a combination of manual therapy techniques, exercise rehabilitation and education to help them recover and achieve their goals. She enjoys running Reformer Pilates and group exercise classes at the clinic to assist in her patient’s recovery, prevent injury and promote general wellbeing.

Outside of work, Rachael loves spending time with her husband, daughter and White Swiss Shepherd. She enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle and pursuing her running, triathlon or weightlifting fitness goals.

Rachel graduated from The University of Notre Dame Australia in 2012 and started her career in the hospital sector. Having experience in all areas of inpatient and outpatient care including the Emergency Department, Rehabilitation, Falls Clinic and Parkinson’s

Clinic at Joondalup Health Campus.

Having developed a passion for vertigo, balance and falls prevention, Rachel has spent the last six years working in private practice seeing clients with falls, vertigo and neurological presentations.

She has travelled to Atlanta USA to further her knowledge in vestibular rehabilitation, obtaining a certificates in Vestibular Rehabilitation a Competency Based Course in 2016, attending the Neuro-otological Society of Australia’s conference in 2019, and Advances

in Vestibular Rehabilitation course in 2020. She has also completed further education in Parkinson’s Disease and concussion management.

Outside of Physiotherapy, Rachel enjoys going to the beach and exploring our local parks with her active toddler.

Russell Leadbetter

Russell is a physiotherapist with 40 years of experience, and postgraduate degrees in both sports and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Curtin University. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and evidence-based management of musculoskeletal problems, including sporting and work injuries, persistent pain conditions, and arthritis. Some of the conditions that Russell has extensive experience with are; back pain, neck pain, headaches, jaw pain, shoulder, knee and hip problems. Additionally, he has experience in vertigo, balance and falls prevention, and physiotherapy for neurological conditions. Whilst Russell has experience with Sports Physiotherapy for elite soccer, Aussie rules football, basketball and track and field athletes, he is now passionate about working to help people of all ages and backgrounds to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. Russell is a keen surfer and triathlete who has maintained a high level of fitness throughout his career.

Russell is passionate about applying evidence-based Physiotherapy in a person-centred way, identifying all factors contributing to his patients’ problem and working collaboratively with them to develop a personalised plan for recovery. Russell also works closely with other health professionals when required, such as General Practitioners, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Physicians and Exercise Physiologists, to ensure his patients get optimal diagnosis, care and rehabilitation.

Sophie Naglan

Sophie Naglan

Sophie completed her Physiotherapy degree at Curtin University and has been part of the MTM team since 2014. Sophie has a broad range of experience across many sports including netball, stage league basketball and football, as well as working on the orthopaedic and maternity wards at Glengarry Private Hospital. She is skilled in treating a range of musculoskeletal issues, sports injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation.

Sophie has completed further training in Clinical Pilates and dry needling. Sophie enjoys running our Clinical Pilates and Seniors exercise classes in our Duncraig gym space. She is passionate about helping clients get back to the activities they enjoy and maintaining their fitness and strength. Sophie also treats aspects of Women's Health including ultrasound treatment post-delivery and for mastitis.

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys running, volunteering at the Dogs Refuge Home, and cooking.
