Frequently

Asked Questions

  • What is the duration of the appointments?

Our Physiotherapy consultations are 30 minutes in duration.

Women's health consultations are 1 hour long for your first appointment and 30 minutes for any reviews.

The Reformer Pilates are 45 min in duration.

Seniors classes are 1 hour in duration and the Group Exercise classes are 45 minutes long.

If you have multiple areas that you are wanting your Physiotherapist to address, we are able to book in longer consultations.

Please let our admin team know and we could help you with your booking.

  • Is Physiotherapy covered by Medicare?

In most cases, Physiotherapy services are not covered by Medicare. In some circumstances, on referral by your General Practitioner (GP), you may be eligible to receive a small allowance of Medicare-funded treatment. These are called Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) referrals. Speak to your GP if you believe that you are entitled to this.

Please note that we are a private billing practice and consults will encure an 'out of pocket' expense.

  • How do I pay for Physiotherapy treatment?

Your Private Health Fund covers Physiotherapy in most circumstances. You will need to check with your specific health fund to see if you have Physiotherapy Coverage. Payment options include:

    • HICAP’s (Private Health Rebates)
    • EFTPOS VISA / MasterCard
    • Cash
    • Cheque

You can call your Private Health fund to get an estimate of what you are covered for Physiotherapy services.

For an initial Physiotherapy consulation we use item number 500 and item number 505 for any reviews.

For any Womens health consults, please quote the item number 593.

Seniors exercise classes use the code: 561

Over 80's seniors classes use the code: 560

If you have a Medicare care plan (EPC), this can not be used concurrently with your Private Health, you need to use one or the other at the time of service.

  • Do I need a referral to see a Physiotherapist?

No. Physiotherapists are primary contact practitioners who you do not need a referral to access.  We do work closely with a lot of General Practitioners and Specialists to ensure you have the best care.

You will need a referral however if your injuries are sustained in a work accident or if you intend to claim payment through the Motor Vehicle Insurance Commission.

Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) cardholders and Medicare EPC's also require a referral from their General Practitioner.
