Seniors ExerciseClasses
Senior exercise group classes are fitness programs specifically designed for older adults to promote physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being. These classes are typically conducted in a group setting, led by our trained Physiotherapists who cater to the unique needs and abilities of seniors. The goal is to help older individuals maintain or improve their health, mobility, and quality of life.
Our classes cover things like:
Chair Exercises: These exercises are designed for seniors who may have mobility issues or difficulty standing for long periods. Exercises are performed while seated in a chair, focusing on improving strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
Strength Training: This focuses on building muscle mass, which is important for maintaining bone density and preventing age-related muscle loss. This may incorporate resistance bands, light weights, or bodyweight exercises.
Balance and Fall Prevention: This specifically targets balance exercises to reduce the risk of falls among seniors. Balance drills and coordination exercises are often included.
Functional Fitness: This focuses on exercises that mimic everyday movements, such as squatting, reaching, and lifting. The goal is to improve functional abilities for daily activities.
Senior exercise group classes offer several benefits, including improved physical health, increased social interaction, and a supportive community environment.
Before joining any exercise program, patients should consult with our Physiotherapists to ensure that the chosen activities are safe and suitable for their individual health conditions. Additionally, classes led by our qualified Physiotherapists who are experienced in working with older adults can provide proper guidance and adaptations.
